Getting to Kauaʻi
Airport: You’ll want to fly into Līhu‘e Airport (LIH), the island’s main airport. Most major airlines offer nonstop flights from the West Coast, or you can connect through Honolulu (HNL).
Transportation: We recommend renting a car—Kauaʻi is best explored at your own pace, and taxis or ride-shares are limited.
Getting Around the Island
Driving: Consider renting a vehicle to explore the island. Allow extra time—roads are two lanes and traffic can be slow. But the views are worth it!
Turo is a great option for affordable and convenient car rentals.
The Poipu Shuttle provides island visitors the experience of Kauai’s Aloha Spirit by offering their shuttle service exclusive for the Poipu area, in an open air, “Aloha Spirit” Trolley. To arrange, call Doug at (808)-651-9945
Travel Tips
Book flights and accommodations early—September is a popular time to visit.
Always use protection! Reef safe sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses of course ;)
Kauai is a small island with few main roads. Be mindful that an unexpected road closure can lead to hours of traffic, so we ask our guests to stay near the Poipu area the day of the wedding.
